Most balcony furniture is scaled down until sitting in it feels like waiting for something. The other approach is to put two genuinely oversized rockers on a narrow concrete slab and give up the rest of the floor. Here is what fits in that footprint, what to measure before ordering, and the chair that did not make it.

A rocker needs more floor than its base. The chair travels backward as it tips, so the real depth is the seat depth plus the rock. The two chairs here sit in an L around the table rather than side by side — one backed against the wall, one facing the rail. Side by side, both rocks would need depth in the same direction. In an L, each rocks into its own strip of floor, and the walking path stays clear.
The second measurement is the door swing. A slider is fine. A hinged balcony door opening outward will take one of the two chairs off the plan.
Steel frame, curved wood rockers, deep tufted cushion that holds an adult and a half. The saucer shape is why it reads as an indoor chair that happens to be outside — there is no visible outdoor-furniture hardware anywhere on it.
The cushion is the thing that will age, not the frame. Worth checking whether the cover comes off before ordering two of them.
One strand, run along the balustrade at hand height rather than overhead. Low light at the rail lights the floor and leaves the seating in shadow, which is the only reason a balcony this close to a street feels private at night.
Warm white, not daylight. Cool-white strands on a stucco wall turn the whole balcony the colour of a parking garage.
Round, so nothing catches a shin in the dark, and small enough that it sits between the two rockers without blocking the rock. A mesh or lattice top lets rain through instead of holding a puddle for two days.
Light enough to lift with one hand. On a balcony every piece gets moved to sweep.
One small living thing on the table, sitting on a patterned plate. It is the detail that makes the balcony read as lived in rather than staged, and at this size it never gets in the way of a glass or a phone.
The plate under it is doing a job. On a lattice table top, anything without a saucer drips straight through onto the floor.
Not in the photo, and the piece most likely to be skipped. A deep cushion on a covered balcony still takes blown rain from the open side, and a saucer shape holds water in the middle of the seat rather than shedding it.
Round covers, not rectangular. A square cover over a round chair collects a pool in every corner.

A hanging egg chair is the obvious balcony choice, and it photographs beautifully. It loses here on two counts. Many rental leases do not allow drilling into a balcony ceiling, which means a freestanding stand, and that wide stand base swallows the floor the second seat would have used. It also swings and turns, so on a narrow slab it drifts into the railing. The rockers move in one direction only, toward the rail, and leave the walking strip clear.
Measure the rock, not the chair. Set the two seats in an L around the table so each rocks into its own strip of floor. One strand of warm light along the railing, one small round table, and nothing else on the floor.
